Technical Sargent Sona J. Herland

Sona Is a retired United States Air Force and MN ANG Technical Sargent with a career that extended 13 Years. He spent most of his career as a Logistician for both KC-135 and C-130 J Model Wings. Sona also served as the Yellow Ribbon Program Coordinator in Minnesota State and SARC/VA. He also was selected as the Logistics Representative for National Guard Bureau as the AROWS Core Team member.

During his career, he deployed to various locations such as Seeb AB, Oman and LSA Anaconda/Balad AB, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sona served as the PAX/Cargo Controller and worked with the 4thID MASH as an Emergency Medical Technician. At home station Sona was selected as the Yellow Ribbon Program Coordinator which assisted member and their families with the both pre-deployment and Reintegration transition. Sona finished his career in 2014 with the 133AW Distribution Flight as the Training NCO.

Sona comes from a long line of family history serving in the US Military. His Grandfather who is a Retired MSgt, both of his parents and a majority of his uncles have all served in the USAF. Sona currently has three cousins still currently service both CONUS and OCONUS. Sona currently resides in the State of Florida for most of the year and then spends his summers with his family in Minnesota.
